Open meeting in the Press and Communication Committee (UFP)

The Press & Communication Committee (Udvalg for Formidling og Presse/UFP) is looking for new members, and we would like to invite anyone who is interested to participate in an open meeting.

The open meeting is held online on August 27 2024 from 10.00 - 11.00.

We will talk a bit about previous activities in UFP, the purpose of the committee, and brain-storm future plans as well.

What is UFP?

UFP was founded in 2021 as a network within the Danish Statistical Society. The motivation was to gather DSTS members who had a common interest in science communication and broader dissemination of statistics. We have had activities and discussions concerning communication with journalists, writing popular science content (e.g. blogs), and bridging statistics and high school education. So far, we have started a blog on the DSTS webpage, organized two open events for DSTS members, and two conference sessions.

Our guiding principle is that the activities should reflect the interests of active members, so there is amble opportunity to include whatever ideas you have in the network. We have a yearly budget provided by DSTS that we can use to organize activities within the scope of the committee.

We currently have about 4 yearly meetings, and organize 1-2 activities a year.
