YSD x Cinemateket: The Big Short + Talk on the financial crisis
Join Young Statisticians Denmark (YSD) on October 8th for a screening of The Big Short (2015) in Cinemateket, introduced by Professor Lasse Heje Pedersen who advised the Federal Reserve on managing the crisis.
Lasse Heje Pedersen talks about what short selling means and about his experiences in New York during the financial crisis where he experienced “the big short” up close. He was a professor at NYU where he did research on liquidity crises already before the 2007-2008 crisis - and was later awarded a chaired professorship financed by “the biggest short,” John A. Paulson. He advised the Federal Reserve on managing the crisis. Furthermore, he worked in a hedge fund that was also “short”.
You can buy your ticket at a reduced price of 75 DKK at the Cinemateket ticket office (Gothersgade 55, 1123 Kbh. K) – to get the price reduction, say that you are a member of YSD (no proof will be demanded). Tickets can also be bought through the Cinemateket webpage below for 110 DKK.
