The National Center of Excellence PREDICT at Aalborg University in Copenhagen is looking to recruit a motivated and dedicated biostatistician to join our international and interdisciplinary group of researchers. The position is for one year with possibility of extension.

The National Center of Excellence, PREDICT (Center for Molecular Prediction of Inflammatory Bowel Disease) was founded in 2021 with the purpose of studying and unravelling the cause and prognosis of inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). IBDs are chronic and disabling bowel diseases that affect millions of people worldwide. PREDICT is organized as an interdisciplinary collaboration between five partner institutions, involving a broad range of competences and many great colleagues including epidemiologists, basic scientists, clinicians, biostatisticians, and data scientists. In addition to national partnerships, PREDICT also has strong international collaborations.

As biostatistician in PREDICT you will be working closely with the Center’s interdisciplinary group of scientists to perform forefront, international research. You will be joining an active group of dedicated biostatisticians and data scientists ensuring knowledge sharing and continuous professional development. You will contribute to study planning, take responsibility for data management and statistical analyses of nationwide register data and large datasets collected in PREDICT, and contribute to the interpretation and reporting of the results, including co-authoring of scientific papers. Additionally, you will conduct statistical counselling of PhD students and other scientists. PREDICT is characterized by a collaborative work environment with committed, friendly colleagues. You will have the opportunity to put your personal mark on our biostatistical environment and gain from and contribute to continuous exchange of knowledge with scientists across the Center.

Qualifications

We encourage all interested candidates to apply, also newly qualified candidates, as previous work experience is not a prerequisite for this job. More importantly you should be eager and motivated to use your statistical skills in medical research.

Ideally you:

  • Hold a master’s degree in statistics or equivalent
  • Have excellent skills in statistical programming
  • Are an expert R user
  • Are fluent in English
  • Like collaboration and thrive in an interdisciplinary team
